Royal Norfolk Show Announces Royal Visit

Education, News

HRH, who has a long association with the Royal Norfolk Show, will spend the day meeting exhibitors, stewards and show goers from across the county. As part of his tour of the showground HRH will have the opportunity to engage with many of the organisations promoting the work of young people in Norfolk, including the Education areas, performing arts, as well as the livestock and equestrian competitions.

The Duke will also meet with many of the Young Diamonds taking part in a mass tribute event in the Grand Ring.

“We are thrilled once again to be welcoming HRH The Duke of Edinburgh to our show,” said Mark Nicholas, RNAA Managing Director. “His Royal Highness is a champion of young people and we are delighted that he will be supporting the Show theme of Young Achievers.”

HRH last visited the Royal Norfolk Show in 2014, when, as the Earl of Wessex, he held the role of President.

Online tickets for this year’s show are on sale now from the Royal Norfolk Show website www.royalnorfolkshow.co.uk

Free car parking is once again available this year when tickets are bought in advance online. The Show is a fundraising event for the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association and helps support its charitable outputs.

About the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association

The Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA) is a registered charity, founded in 1847 to promote the image, understanding and prosperity of agriculture and the countryside, primarily through its hosting of the Royal Norfolk Show, the UK’s largest two-day county show, which attracts around 80,000 visitors every year.

The RNAA is also home to the Norfolk Showground, a 150-acre event site, featuring landscaped parkland and a 3000 sqm arena and events centre.
