Food, Farming & Environment

The RNAA runs a series of events designed to exchange knowledge and share best practice.

Food, Farming and Environment Forum

Throughout the year the RNAA runs a series of events (the Forum) designed to exchange knowledge and share best practice.

These events include the Norfolk Farming Conference, members visits to farms and food production sites, a focus event on Agri-Tech, topical debates and discussions, and a bespoke programme of events for our thriving group of young professionals – the YIELD Group.

RNAA members have priority for attending all Forum events which are also open to industry professionals, academics and researchers when capacity allows.

Agri-Tech Events

RNAA , in partnership with Agri-TechE, organises an annual event to explore the application of new technologies in farming and food production.

Recent Agri-Tech events have included the Broadland Food Innovation Centre, Fischer Farms (vertical farming) and Frederick Hiam Ltd (automation of root crop processing).

The YIELD Network

Standing for Young, Innovative, Enterprising, Learning and Developing the group provides a thriving network for younger professional members of the Association aged 20-50.

We’re farmers, operators, managers and professionals working in rural industries including lawyers and bankers. Technology entrepreneurs, food producers, researchers and engineers are also active and committed members. We all share a passion for Norfolk; it’s countryside, farming, food and business.

YIELD Events and Activities

We’re a resource, a network, a knowledge hub, a place for professionals working in Norfolk’s rural land-based industries to share ideas and skills.

We understand our members’ busy work-life balance and plan meetings accordingly. Working around the farming calendar, we meet up to six times a year, doing a variety of things, mixing social and business activities.

YIELD provides a platform for informed debate and gets to the heart of the matters, which concern members. The group engages high calibre speakers and also arranges exclusive social activities for members.

Norfolk has a history of producing innovative agricultural pioneers – Townshend and Coke – and is home to world-class science and agribusiness today. YIELD aims to build on this tradition.

The RNAA gives YIELD administrative support and promotes the activities of the group through access to training, funding and contacts. The network is steered by members of the YIELD organising committee. The group is independent and does not represent any commercial interests.

How to Join YIELD

YIELD membership is subsidised by the RNAA and is FREE to the individual and relies on the enthusiasm and peer interaction of its members.

We are mindful that members are giving up their time to attend so we make sure that our meetings are focused and rewarding.
We’re always looking for professionals with a keen rural interest or background to join us. If you are interested in joining the YIELD Group, please contact yield@rnaa.org.uk or call 01603 731965.
