The Norfolk Scholar Competition 2017

Launched at the Royal Norfolk Show in June, the Competition offers two winners the opportunity to be named as the county’s farming scholars and to attend one of the industry’s foremost events, The Oxford Farming Conference, in January 2017.
Entrants for the fully funded scholarship need to submit a short précis on how their attendance at the Oxford Conference could benefit their professional lives as well as outlining what they believe to be the challenges facing UK agriculture today.
But, be quick, as the closing date for entries is November 30 with interviews taking place the week commencing December 5.
Last year’s winners were Anna Purser, from Raveningham and Oscar Smith, from Hellesdon who both attended Easton and Otley College.
Oscar, said: “The Oxford Farming Conference provided an environment which enabled me to speak to many people from different aspects of the industry as well as providing further opportunity for progression and development.”
And Anna added: “I found the Oxford Farming Conference really inspiring. It definitely made me more motivated in pursuing a career in the Agricultural Industry.”
