The Trustees of the Food & Farming Discovery (FFDT) invite tenders for the development of a Digital Hub as a means of developing the Trust’s ability to engage target audiences through digital and online means.
In 2016, a collection of individuals and organisations with a passion to build interest and understanding of food, farming and the countryside in Norfolk came together, under the umbrella of the county’s agricultural association – the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA). Their aim was to develop a new collaborative framework for learning about agriculture and the environment. The FFDT, a charitable incorporated organisation, was formed to establish a network for partners to work together on projects that enhance learning opportunities for young people and to educate current and future consumers about the importance of locally sourced food and farming products. The Trust is overseen by a board of experienced trustees drawn from industry, education and the agricultural sector. They are supported by an advisory board with representatives from local and national organisations working in education, science, technology, agriculture and communication.
The FFDT is independent from the RNAA but works closely with it and other partners to deliver the charity’s educational objectives in a mutually beneficial manner.
Our new digital hub will be based around an easy to use, interactive and visually engaging website, forming a home for digital resources and raising the impact of our hands-on events and activities. Initially, content will be channelled across: FFDT projects and initiatives, careers and information on what is growing and being produced locally1. Content for these areas will be developed in collaboration with partner organisations and supported by a comprehensive social media strategy with timely and regularly updated bite-sized educational content. Key to our offer will be the blend of remote learning with hands-on activities and events supported by our mobile classroom. It is intended that the RNAA will provide the staff resource and skills to manage content for the website and social media platforms.
