Happy new year from the Royal Norfolk Show team!
Planning for the 2018 Royal Norfolk Show is well and truly underway and we wanted to keep you updated on our exciting plans for this year. November saw the formal launch of the 156th Royal Norfolk Show at our preview event held at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. Not only did our guests receive an exclusive preview of The Russia Season exhibition we also unveiled The Royal Norfolk Show 2018.
Every year three key themes are chosen which aim to expand the appeal for visitors, offer additional platforms for business engagement and keep The Show exciting and fresh for all!
The 2018 themes are Field to Fork, Wellbeing and Our Coast.
Field to Fork will bind together the agricultural content of the show, which this year includes the Dexter breed national cattle show and ambitions for a new commercial demonstration area for agricultural technologies.
Wellbeing will promote healthy lifestyles, not only through sport and fitness but showing that our mental health is just as important as our physical health. 2017 saw the UK make great strides in highlighting the importance of mental health. We want to continue this work into 2018 to spread public understanding about how to look after our mental health and to build community resilience.
Our Coast will bring a new dimension to the show by providing a platform for the fishing industry, a chance to discuss the impacts and benefits of renewable energy, and to promote the explosion in tourism along Norfolk’s 90 miles of coastline.
Agriculture, education, careers, skills and supporting businesses small and large both in Norfolk and further afield are still at the heart of The Show and certainly have not been forgotten with the introduction of our three new themes.
There are numerous trade, sponsorship and corporate opportunities and The Show is a unique opportunity to build your brand in the region. Importantly, it provides you and your business with a chance to demonstrate your support for food, farming and the countryside and puts you directly in front of our many visitors – your customers.
We are delighted to continue our support of small businesses and local food and drink producers with our continued collaboration with HSBC. This initiative allows us to promote businesses who have only recently been established and would welcome the marketing opportunity, or for varying reasons would like, but feel unable to attend the Royal Norfolk Show (whether this be financial, staff difficulties or otherwise). We invite you to apply for space and if selected for funding, will only need to pay £50 +VAT to the RNAA – HSBC will kindly fund the remainder of your fee to us directly.
