Working hours are full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 

As with all of our team members, additional flexibility and hours will be required during the Royal Norfolk Show period.

We have a very rare opportunity to join the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA), a charity established in 1847, whose main purpose is to promote and encourage the understanding of, and improvement in, agriculture, food and farming. Best known for the annual Royal Norfolk Show, the RNAA is one of the UK’s leading agricultural associations. In addition to organising its Shows, representing the interests of some 3500 members and running a major venue and events business, the RNAA plays a central role in supporting agriculture both regionally and nationally. In 2018, it took over the secretariat responsibilities for the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, the main function of this role will be:

  • To provide administrative support to the RNAA Commercial and Events Team who, with the rest of the RNAA team, are responsible for events such as the Royal Norfolk Show, Norfolk Spring Fling, Norfolk Christmas Fayre and Norfolk HarFest. This involves communicating with exhibitors, sponsors and suppliers;
  • To assist with the administration and operation of Norfolk Showground Limited – the commercial function of the RNAA which offers venue hire for events which take place at the Norfolk Showground;
  • To work alongside the Deputy CE and Events Manager to administer and operate the Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival – a two-day skills and careers event attracting over 6000 young people;
  • To oversee the operations of the MacGregor Building meeting rooms.

The ideal candidate in this customer facing role, will have a charismatic, out-going personality with excellent interpersonal skills and a good telephone manner, as well as a proven ability and track record as a team player.  Our event schedule is busy and requires you to be flexible and willing to adapt, prepared to work long hours when required for events such as the Royal Norfolk Show. Everyone in our team needs to be able to turn their hand to a variety of practical tasks – a ‘can-do’ attitude and pragmatic problem-solving skills are vital.  Your excellent customer care skills and experience in organising busy events will stand you in good stead for this busy and challenging role where you will be able to develop and adapt within the job.

Computer literacy with good administration and database management skills are essential.
