Grow Your Own Potatoes School Days

The Association is working with AHDB Potatoes as part of their national schools initiative, the ‘Grow Your Own Potatoes’ challenge. The RNAA and Potato Council co-host a day at the Norfolk Showground for schools to learn more about potatoes and take part in the challenge.

The two-part initiative teaches how potatoes are planted, grown and harvested through interactive activities, with the aim of the challenge set out for each school to grow the heaviest potatoes. As well as planting and harvesting their potatoes, pupils get to meet local farmers and producers and take part in fun, educational activities designed to help children learn more about healthy eating and how the potato plays an important part in a balanced diet. Make sure you join in our School Potato Day!
